It's all in the Roll of the Dice #SOLC23

As I was working with a student on metaphors, inspiration hit.  

I pulled out Taylor Mali's Metaphor Dice, and threw them on my desk.  And this is what came from the roll of the dice.



The mind is a divided thunderstorm.

Bright lightning ideas
can be overshadowed by dark memories
booming in your head as
driving thoughts pound down 
into your heart.

    Metaphor Dice: Is this a new teaching tool? Sort of like magnetic poetry? How cool.

    Taylor Mali presented a workshop for our Writing Project, and I tried the metaphor dice. I have to say his spoken word poems really inspired me. "Like LIly, LIke Wilson" is one of those, and "What a Teacher Makes." He's pretty cool.
