Tanka Mood #SOLC23

The house is quiet.  Ashley is in Florida for spring break, and Scott is in France for work.  Cam and I are home working, but in different parts of the state.  Last night, the silence made me a bit blue, and that mood called for a tanka poem.

When I am alone,
missing creeps into my heart--
a reminder that
those I love are far away,
trying to keep tears at bay.

  2. This slice is filled with emotion. Writing is great, as it gives your a platform to share your feelings.

  4. I forgot about tanka poems. This poem is rich with emotion - enough to make me think about my own emotions today

  5. I love this! I can really connect with the sense of silence, and how I start to miss my family and friends who are back in Oregon. My husband and I live together but often do our own things to relax after work (we do activities together as well) but on the nights that we separate, sometimes my mind wanders to loneliness as well.
